Our Story

In 1917, established rancher, Edd Harrell, bought part of the JA Ranch and formed the Harrell Ranch in Armstrong County, Texas.  At the time, the ranch produced cattle & horses.  The ranch has survived mother nature, economic booms & busts, and thrived with technological advancements. We can credit this sucess to the Good Lord and our land management practices earning us the Lone Star Land Steward Award.

Today, over 100 years later, Sam Harrell, great-grandson, leads the ranch to produce cattle, dry-land corn, hay, milo, wheat, & hunting.  With a lifetime of hard work & intelligent decisions, Sam has surpassed the national average of 5% prime quality beef by making his Black Angus herd over 75% prime quality.

In the Centennial year of 2017, Sam expanded his operation to ensure the Harrell Ranch would be passed to the next generation.  TriTails Premium Beef, LLC., is part of the Harrell Ranch & is family-owned & operated.  Sam employs his two daughters and their significant others. 

Sam chooses to sell his beef directly to the public to cut out the middleman. Our beef is either sourced from our ranch or from ranchers who use our cattle blood line. Our mission is to deliver consistent, high-quality beef delivered from our ranch in the Texas Panhandle directly to your door.
